Beware the timescale for cancelling your membership- I thought I’d done it in time but apparently not.
Wines are ok but will need to order quite a few to recoup the £90 annual membership. Decent enough price on Whispering Angel wine.
They also keep offering me red wines which I don’t want despite completing their ‘quiz’ which is supposed to target your offerings to just the ones you want.

They automatically charge you the £90 of the subscription as soon as you do a purchase and they don’t refund you if you want to cancel. The prices aren’t different than what you can find online.

The application works, but the costs of the wine are NOT at cost as other suppliers offer better prices. The annual subscription and the person that said we only made money from the app and all wines prices will be traded prices.
I’ve never seen the wines online for the full prices that I’m being shown on this app, the discounts prices are higher the you or I can buy them from other retailers.
The strange bit about the ordering here is if you buy 2 bottles of wine it changes you and not adding it to a basket, do you can keep shipping and buy all at once. So if you buy 3 x 2 bottles of wine (as you need 6 bottles to get the item shipped) you have 4 transactions on your account, the 4 transaction if a delivery cost.
If you buy lest then 6 bottles, they don’t ship your wine till you have a total of 6 in each order.
Do its a bit different from the other suppliers that will ship 4 bottles. If you tried yo order 10 bottles, 6 would be shipped and the other 4 will stay with them till you order more wine.
The last delivery I got the box the wine was in was open, as the person that sealed the box didn’t want to make sure the box wasn’t going to open.
The delivery company was good to keep the wine safe, but had no tape to reseal the open box. No where on the app to raise a concern to them.

Prompt response and a good acknowledgement of a mis understanding thank you

Completely mislead and ripped off !This site registers and deducts £90 as a membership fee without you having any opportunity to reject or join once you look at their offers, information a potential new member would require is hidden in the FAQ not in the garbage they send via email. They have refused to refund money they have taken unauthorised so now my bank is involved.MISLEADING !*UPDATE Note : As of 04/05/2024 a refund has been initiated, based on response of their customer service I accept the apology and change my review to 3/5, I do feel it is a misleading app which judging by the numerous 1/5 reviews it is clear to see this is an issue Winedrops need to fix and clearly explain to potential members that the membership fee will be deducted without even purchasing anything, hiding membership info in the FAQ’s is not justifiable to warrant “well it was in the emailâ€, customer service have acted professionally I will praise that.

Nice wine but expensive Membership fee. Delivery seems expensive too. Great if you like trying lots of different wines.

The app and the marketing are done pretty well and you do more often than not save a couple of pounds on a bottle, but it’s quite disingenuous how they claim you’re saving 20, 30, 49% with their prices. I compare all bottles they offer and nearly always you can buy them elsewhere for pretty much the same price. So yes, you do save a little bit, but the annual fee negates that for anybody but heavy consumers. If you buy less than 50 bottles a year I don’t really see any benefit to this service. I will use until my subscription runs out but won’t be renewing

I like the concept, however the buy as you experience is really odd. In particular if a wine is out of stock, as I am unclear if I have been charged, how this impacts the subscription/free trial etc. This is nearly great, but honestly I lack confidence in how the service works at the moment.

DHL drivers have zero customer service level
I liked that I could amend the delivery date as the short notice meant no one would be in for the original date. I don’t like the surly DHL drivers. I have a big notice on my front door stating that the door doesn’t open, ring bell and come to back door. So he KNOCKED on the front door and waited and so I went around. When he dumped the heavy box of wine in my arms and said ‘hang on a minute I’ve got to take a photo’ – I put the box on the floor. He then accused me of being snarly or sarky. Something like that. What is wrong with them?

Wine selection and advice is excellent however had major issues with delivery. Looks like they have started a new delivery contract. Hopefully thus will change. Please do not use Evrie they are so so bad and do your business a disservice.

Deceptive Advertising
After singing up for many months, this app (and its advertising methods) are definitely not for me.
The big ‘grab your attention’ adverts on social media (and still present), naming some very big/popular brand I’ve never seen, except one which was on sale on the day I joined only.
The claimed discounts are deceptive. I did my homework and Winedrops is comparing its prices and claimed discounts to the very top/highest prices of what’s available online – I got in contact and fed this back, and the response was very copy/paste generic of ‘everyone does it’.
I’ve given them 3 stars because the app is great to use, there ‘cellar’ method is genius (you build up your own cellar and can dispatch when you wish – saving on delivery costs), and the selection of unique wines is good – but if you’re here for the big claimed discounts on big popular brands, you’re wasting your time.

Good wine but poor communication on pricing, free trial period etc

Great wine. Prices not 100% accurate when you shop around, which is a shame deals aren’t always what they seem.

Check prices from other suppliers
I’ve just received my first case and have been checking the prices from other suppliers. The discounts are not as great as stated since the pre-discount price seems to be somewhat inflated. Especially if you factor in the membership fee. Not sure I’ll be continuing my membership after the first year.

Wine arrives quite promptly. So far so good. Would rather have a trial run for one month than have to pay up for a whole year. We just don’t order anything often enough.

My experience is exactly the same as the other one star reviews.I Wasn’t interested then your in and you can’t get out.Beware of companies with no contact details or customer service links on the website.UPDATE!After the above review went live I was contacted by the Winedrops sales team, it was discovered by them that I had inadvertently set up two accounts without knowing I had, this caused issues with their tech and meant that the Ap didn’t operate as it should for me. My feedback is, you shouldn’t be able to “accidentally†set up a second account, warning should be clear what’s happening. The approach via WhatsApp is a bit heavy handed. Which is how I got signed up twice. Please making getting in contact with you as an company easier, as I said in the call, if I have an issue it’s much easier to get resolved satisfactorily if I’m not frustrated by being left hanging with no easy way of getting my issue resolved directly with the company. If you need to reach out to me, it’s too late. Thanks for getting my issues resolved.

I had a surprise call from the sales manager of Wine drops, a very nice gentleman called Ricky. He is such a breath of fresh air compared to our treatment from the other gentleman.Ricky apologised for our experience and took on board everything we have experience pointing out where he has and is making changes to how the calls are made and the detail that is given out to their customers.Ricky was terribly upset that things had gone so badly wrong for us, and he couldnt apologise enough and sent us the original wine that started this whole episode. He didn’t have to do this and in doing so he has shown how much we as customers mean to the team at wine drops. I’m not saying this will happen for everyone as they are a new tiny company but it is very much appreciated. What I really appreciated also, was the call, the personal touch since speaking with him I am even considering trying again with them in the future. He gave me a better understanding of how they operate as a company, and I urge any future customers to read and understand their process before ordering.Due to his call, I will order in the future and i am raising the star rating. Thanks again Ricky for caring about your customers and i look forward to ordering from you in the future.**********************As we promised we would update on this. Wine drops has given us back our money. We got the fraud squad at the bank involved even though he stated we wouldn’t get the annual money back we did. Thank goodness. I have highlighted to them that not having a contact number for them and the way the girls sell in his product is a con and really needs looking at as its fraud and they take your money and tell you that a sale bottle of wine is on its way to you when it isn’t.THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THEM.THEY HAVE TOTALLY SCAMMED US TAKING MONEY DIRECTLY FROM OUR ACCOUNT. I think the people who write the good reviews are his family and friends. I have tried to call them and to date HAVE STILL Not had a call back. They hide behind emails and take your money and send you a voucher to spend on their wines which is a total joke as you are asking for your money back. I really didn’t want to have to do this but i will put Johnny’s return email on here so you can see how they don’t care what you want its their way or no way which contradicts you rights as a consumer . I think this will be a visit to Harlow which is where they say they live still chasing them on company’s house so will keep you posted.

Discounted yes but real world range of 5%-10% to mainstream retailers not the huge discount values shown on the app. Add in the delivery cost and joining fee and the savings are minimal unless you are buying large quantities.

VERY GOOD IDEA LET DOWN BY VERY POOR DELIVERY
Concept is first class and works very well until we come to delivery where they are badly let down by DHL their designated delivery people. On a good day they are average but , on a bad day appalling More effort required to satisfy this particular customer who is considering leaving , which would be shame in view of my opening remark

Wondered what all the ads were about so decided to dip my toe into the water and try out Winedrops for myself. Novel idea, and seems to work OK. One duff wine so far just reported, so will see how the customer service is. Overall, other wines have been ok, but from looking around, you need to take some of the claimed discounts with a pinch of salt! Couple of months in and the jury is still out as to whether I will continue with another year when my subscription runs out.

I filled in my details on the online form expecting to see a catalogue of prices but instead got put on the waiting list for a call – I don’t think the process was very transparent. Then read some of the reviews and decided I wasn’t going to invest in membership without sight of the current price list, so e-mailed asking for my details to be removed – this was confirmed. Two weeks later had a call; when I referred to my details being removed the representative said that the call list was “separate” (which suggests they don’t understand GDPR obligations). He kept saying “So you don’t drink wine?” over and over. In the end I spoke over him and ended the call.

Good discounts on wine. Sign up process was misleading though, hence 3 stars.

I was offered a Bujeu Famiglia Berta 2019 for £15 reduced from £25.54.
Out of interest I googled it and could have got a bottle for €10 !!!

I am a member of winedrops but I seem to have quite a few white wines delivered in my last box and given I don’t like white I’m amazed I seem to have ordered 4 out of 6??
