Wine discounts are good. Packaging is quite cumbersome. Vast majority of wines seem to be q expensive meaning there may be big discounts but absolute price still high.

Re- reciewed following contact post making my initial review. The company have responded with actions that they will take to improve the customer experience which I feel fair to take into consideration. For me, cancelling the subscription was not easy! As the company are small snd wanting to understand why customers do not want to continue, to be able to do this it requires you to call a number and speak to someone. My experience of this was being on hold, twice, for over 10mins (so over 20mins on hold) listening to the same song over and over. After the 10mins, there was just an American automated voice saying sorry no one is available and to call back. The service itself is not for me, the wine choices are provided by whatsapp messages so you’re limited in what you can see is in stock. For me this has acted as a deterrent to ordering. Prices also aren’t cheap and they’re what you get in any boutique wine shop usually between £13 upto £30+. I note this as the marketing for the company elude to wines being a lot cheaper than this (initially seen via. instagram).I can only comment on the quality of 1 wine that I tried from Winedrops, which was good quality, but I did not feel worth paying a subscription fee for. I would have probably have continued ordering with them if made available without the subscription fee.Personally, i’m going to be ordering from other retailers for now with a simpler system in place.I appreciate the personal reach out following my experience.

Everything is perfect. DHL delivery was terrible. They did delivery when nobody was at home. I chose a local service point. It took a 6~7days to be delivered at service point.

This is actually not a review of the company’s services but an observation of the company’s approach to attracting potential customers and an explanation why I refuse to EVER sign up to this particular model.Signing up, revealing your personal details (address, telephone number, email address, etc.) and giving them your payment details – all that before you can even see a full list of wines and the price list? Why are they not more transparent on their website? Why can’t you see what you’re buying? Why in their email I received they listed only some of their more expensive wines (£9 and up)?Simple Google search reveals that it will cost you £90 per year to be a member of Winedrops, which means you’d have to buy 300+ bottles of wine to benefit from the scheme and get it cheaper than in any standard supermarket (that provides online shopping & deliveries) – and that’s it you only buy their cheapest wines and never take advantage of the full range.Playing the card of a 10-day free trial is a cheap bait – how can you ever check a possible yearly benefit in only 10 days?!So passé.Also, by now I’ve received several communications from them and when not responded to first ones, I started receiving repeated ones on daily basis rushing me to respond, saying I’ve only 24 hours left to sign up… and my phone provider also started flagging their txt messages as a potential spam.Food for thought. If You can afford it, fine – I’m out.

Another review about the misleading sales pitch.. They claim you can have a bottle of wine for a pound.. but you need to order others as well plus 6.99 shipping.. but the real problem is they tell you its 10 day trial and if you dont like it nothing lost and you get a wine for a pound!!! They fail to tell you that they will then after 10 days take 90 pounds for a years subscription!!!! Very very misleading and when i called to say how upset i was about it they wasnt even bothered!!! such a shame that small businesses like this get let down or let themselves down with misleading telephone sales!!

Great product, really good way to buy wine but the monthly subs don’t make sense for me. They say that you’ll break even spending £300/year on wine, but at that price I think I’d rather shop around for deals elsewhere and not be locked in to the drops.

The delivery was quick and easy to set up and the person you speak with through watsapp is great at replying. It just wasn’t clear to me upon signing up exactly what I was signing up for as it was a rose summer deal and the website wasn’t easy to navigate to find transparency. Loved my wine though!

Hidden £90 yearly fee and no way to access your account to cancel. The £1 bottle of wine is the draw for us all. Poor advertising to get people in and then draw money from your account.I’ve updated this review as their customer care were quick to reply, cancel and refund the amount. Whilst the model is great, more care should be placed in the advertising of the scheme and the hidden costs.

I thought I would give this trial a go and wish now I had looked at company before signing up for the 10 daysBeen unwell with covid so just now realising the hidden £90 annual subscription. This was not evident when I signed up I contacted the company and they assure me they are graciously refunding now but it’s a lesson learnt and I won’t be so quick to sign up for things in future

I’m not sure why but they just won’t let me cancel. I’ve emailed twice also tried to cancel via their text/WhatsApp messages.I hope the reason behind is they are very busy with new subscriptions etc.. but kinda reminds me of bogus companies that just don’t let you go once you sign up. Frankly disappointing!

Winedrops is a good service for anyone who doesn’t know much about wine and the comms is very good. Quick responses and WhatsApp is efficient. As someone who spends a lot of money on wine, I’ve got a pretty good understanding on what wines should cost. Whilst I don’t think the wines on offer are overpriced, you can certainly find the same wine for the same price or cheaper if you look hard enough (and RRP quoted is often inflated). This is not a criticism of the company just something to be aware of. In summary, give wineDrops a go but don’t expect to pay much under market.
