Tried to join as a member and gave up after 7 attempts the trouble is I have now entered my credit card details but can’t access the website to cancel them as I’m not seen a a member no matter how many time I try to join. I’m now unsure of this company is this an elaborate scam?

Winedrops are completely out of order. I cancelled my subscription over a year ago and they have continued to bill me again, a year later.

Scammers who try to take extra money from your acount without permission higher than subscription fee. Even when you email them and cancel the subscription they apologise and continue to do so do not trust this so called “company” with your details as because of them my bank is constantly froze due to them trying to large sums of money out of it and leave me nothing !

I have reported winedrop for false advertising, you receive offers through email etc but they are never ‘available’ at the price offered. They are ridiculously slow on communications as well.

After this and a number of other issues I’m not going to continue with my membership.

The app is clunky and not intuitive, you can’t do a simple search such as ‘Malbec’ ‘Pino’ ‘Chardonnay’ it assume more wine knowledge than I think average. I would say the search function is largely useless. It was not clear that you buy before it hits the cellar, it was in the mail but you are already in the app at this point, a mail retrospective is pointless.

A significant portion of the wine is not actually that discounted and can be found cheaper in normal supermarkets which was disappointing, I had already bought before checking this. This is my biggest disappointment. This means you are constantly checking to see if you do actually have a deal, which I feel defeats the object of the app and service.

The app is not self contained and the switching between web and app is very legacy/dated and not helpful when trying to manage the account.

I can see why it works for some people but the savings are massively over exaggerated, you have to marry that up against the membership cost and the cost of delivery which eats into those supposed savings, don’t rely on their numbers. Not a big issue but the majority of wines are 12 pounds upwards

Extreme aggressive marketing.

I thought give it a go to see what was offered but the process to actually see what was available involved a prolonged filling out of details and a long winded survey. No sooner than when i had finally got into the menus to see what wines were available, i started getting texts and emails to ‘make sure i didn’t miss out’ on ‘great’ offers. A simple search online found wines I would be interested in for less! This was 4 days ago, and even after unsubscribing and deleting the app I’m still getting emails. Clearly someone has done an online course on giving the customer what they want by bombarding with correspondence laced with a generous helping of FOMO.

To cap it all I got a call today, from a standard mobile number, to offer to waive the subscription fee.

I rarely leave negative reviews btw. Perhaps you need to understand that your marketing strategy is not for everyone and if the ‘deals’ offered are as good as you make out, they will speak for themselves. If they can see them without opening themselves up to the onslaught that is.

Their statement “Middle man” is untrue, so are Berry Bros etc
The so called discount wine was poor quality. I’ve been trying to cancel membership without success. Any company who makes cancellations difficult are in a desperate situation.
Being in Scotland, Scots Law will eventually get my release from this deceptive company

I wish there was a zero star option, this company is a SCAM!!!!!! My partner saw this company advertised and was curious followed instructions to be able to view wines and decided he was not interested. No where did it say he was agreeing to a membership and last night a whole year later has suddenly had £90 taken from his bank he reached out to this company to request refund as he was unaware of these fees and he received a pathetic reply stating he had 30 days prior to renewal (of a membership was not told he would make) and there was nothing that could be done but close his account!! This is unethical and disgusting business practice Trading standards will be informed.

They make you sign up first with all ur details then try and charge you a huge ahh fee. So I close the app delete it, then the next day non stop phone calls from them. After a few I ignore I pick up bc what is the hype who’s calling me. This guy trying to coerce me into buying a membership, I say no. Tried again saying they have all my details and can just charge me now (wtf?) I cut him off to reinstate my no bc no means no girlies, and this sassy diva hangs up on me

I was actually excited to try Wine Drops because they advertised themselves as offering quality wines and champagnes at better prices than traditional sellers. Seemed like a great idea… until I actually tried it.

First red flag: you must download their app and give up your email and phone number just to view their selection. Against my better judgment, I did it — and was instantly disappointed. Their collection was absolutely terrible, not even close to what they claimed. I canceled my subscription immediately.

But that wasn’t the worst part.

After canceling, I started getting spammed with over 35 phone calls every single day from different numbers. When I pick up, someone says they’re from Wine Drops — and then just hangs up after 4 seconds. Every time. This isn’t just annoying, it’s harassment. It feels like stalking.

I’m honestly shocked that a company I thought was cool turned out to be shady as hell. It’s clear now that they’re not just selling wine — they’re selling your personal information for profit. Your phone number and email become their way to make money, not to provide any actual value.

Avoid this app at all costs. Total scam.

I’m really unimpressed. I attempted to cancel my account and followed all the prompts until I received confirmation that the cancellation was completed. Despite this, I was recently charged for a full year subscription. This experience has been frustrating and feels misleading. I am currently trying to get in touch to request my refund.

I’ve only given it 1 star as I couldnt give it none. Avoid this company like the plague. They deliberately make it difficult to cancel your membership in the free period and then refuse to refund anything even though no orders have ever been submitted. Fortunately my bank are on to it and hopefully I will get a refund. However I understand that they are disputing it so be aware and don’t sign up for a free period if you don’t want to be scammed

Awful. Tried taking the money out 7 days before the cooling off time. No contact number. Called me 2 minutes after cancelling my subscription, you can’t call the number back they used. They don’t reply to emails. I had to get the bank to get my money back. I would call them cowboys but that would be unfair to cowboys.

Only because I can’t leave a 0 star review. Been trying to get a refund for more than a month, the process is tortuous, seems designed to make you give up. My experience has been awful, would never recommend.
