Bunch of thieves. Stole £118 from a pensioner. Refuse to answer emails. Don’t use them !

I signed up for the trial and didn’t like any of the wines or prices so I cancelled in the time allowed. A week or so later a salesman called me at work and said he would add a free bottle to my ‘account’ in case I changed my mind. He fraudulently didn’t mention reinstating any membership. I didn’t change my mind and didn’t think any more of it until I saw £90 taken from my account. They are refusing a refund. Don’t use them – there are better wine companies with better customer service. I shall be pursuing a refund legally if I have to

I am not sure what to think of Winedrops, I’d like to think all was ok with my order and whether I did indeed get a good deal, however I paid £119.99 for 6 bottles of cloudy Bay earlier this week and today an offer came in for £13.99 for one bottle of Cloudy Bay which if you multiply up is £83.94, I don’t think mine was such a bargain after all. I’d appreciate any thoughts on this
I produced a screenshot and shared it with them as they didn’t believe me and have heard nothing back well out with their 3hr response. Not convinced I’d use again as feel a bit of a fool

UTTER SCAM – avoid.

A terrible experience. Delivered 6 bottles of the wrong wine, and have gone radio silent about replacing or refunding them despite numerous chasers. Hard to comment on the quality of the wine as its not what I ordered, but the efficiency of customer service has been abysmal. I am not sure if the problem will ever be put right and on that basis, its hard to justify making another order!

utter bollocks – Winedrops, Casedrops, or whatever you call yourselves next week are just scam merchants, who rip you off via underhand promotion of an app which involves paying £99 to download. Don’t read the fake CASEDROP reviews – just check out TRUSTPILOT and see why they have been suspended from the platform for ‘Companies on Trustpilot aren’t allowed to offer incentives or pay to hide reviews’ and ‘Breach of guidelines

This company has been offering incentives for reviews. This company has been offering incentives in exchange for reviews. This can include discounts, gifts, and more.

This isn’t allowed on Trustpilot, as it can lead to bias and compromise the reliability of reviews. Are any of the reviews real? Well the 1* ones are for sure. Ignore the rest. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/winedrops.com

Downloaded the app to have a look at it. I have since been spammed with calls. At least 3 per day for weeks. Absolutely disgusting. You block a number and they call on a different one. Harassing and pressuring.

I wish I could give no stars
I did not agree to the membership fee – had I been told I had to pay £119 for a year at the prices that is a lot of wine.

Do not sign up and do not down load the app

After downloading the app but not subscribing this company took £199 from my Apple Pay without authorisation.
Shocking!
Will now not ever buy any wine from them

I have just joined and I am disappointed that the membership was not made clear and that transactions were taken without a basket/cart and checkout.
I immediately cancelled my membership and claimed a free bottle to which another £6.99 was immediately taken for posting! This is misleading the customer and is wrong – just by claiming a gift you take money out of my bank account!
I shall be posting on other social media platforms NOT to trust your integrity and honesty when purchasing wine.

They tried to take £119 out of my bank account (twice) without consent. When I downloaded the app originally, no pricing was viewable without signing up so I immediately deleted the app. But somehow I ended up signed up to a trial that linked to my bank card though Apple Pay. I was signed up without my knowledge. Zero email confirmations or communication. Zero email to say the trial had ended and to expect a bank charge of £119. Luckily I didn’t have the funds and have a great bank who declined the payment and have blocked them from further attempts. What kind of a business are you people trying to run. Sort it out.

You have to enter card details before you can even view any wines single wine. This in itself is a red flag. Also they remove any comments on TikTok that ask any questions.

Be cautious before downloading this app. I originally came across it on Instagram and thought it looked worth a try. However, after downloading, I was immediately met with a paywall. I quickly realised it wasn’t for me and uninstalled it. Not long after, I began receiving repeated calls from someone at the company. When I finally picked up, the caller used high-pressure tactics to push me into signing up for a “free” trial, which I reluctantly accepted despite having doubts. At no point was any payment mentioned or agreed to.

Following this, I received emails from the company, to which I responded clearly stating I wasn’t interested and asked to be removed from their system. Despite this, I was later charged £90.

In my experience, this app operates in a highly misleading and aggressive way. I feel it’s a manipulative business model designed to catch people out. Proceed with extreme caution

I cancelled my subscription three years ago, yet I’ve continued to be charged annually for a service I no longer receive. This marks the third consecutive year of unauthorized payments. Despite repeated requests to have my personal details removed from your database, no action has been taken. This not only reflects a serious lapse in customer care but also raises significant concerns about your compliance with GDPR regulations.

Laura Shiels

Be really careful. From start to finish the whole app seems to be set up to entrap subscription. I was very cautious and my initial intention was just to be able to look at the pricing ..there in lies the hook. Even though I thought I’d successfully managed to circumnavigate the subscription aspect, a week or so later, I got slapped with a £199 charge for an annual subscription. I felt I had been very carful as I could see the way this app was already working. In the middle of chasing a refund out and so far, the email contact for that is unsurprisingly also not straight forward.

utter scam, still trying to take money from my account now after 5 months. do not go anywhere near this company.

Michael McLean

Beware. Charged £109 within a short time for a “membership” that I didn’t sign up for. Ignoring emails which is their only form of communication. Lots of similar complains. I will be perusing a chargeback and posting honest reviews wherever possible. Do not fall int this trap.

Winedrops are completely out of order. I cancelled my subscription over a year ago and they have continued to bill me again, a year later.

Scammers who try to take extra money from your acount without permission higher than subscription fee. Even when you email them and cancel the subscription they apologise and continue to do so do not trust this so called “company” with your details as because of them my bank is constantly froze due to them trying to large sums of money out of it and leave me nothing !

I have reported winedrop for false advertising, you receive offers through email etc but they are never ‘available’ at the price offered. They are ridiculously slow on communications as well.

After this and a number of other issues I’m not going to continue with my membership.

The app is clunky and not intuitive, you can’t do a simple search such as ‘Malbec’ ‘Pino’ ‘Chardonnay’ it assume more wine knowledge than I think average. I would say the search function is largely useless. It was not clear that you buy before it hits the cellar, it was in the mail but you are already in the app at this point, a mail retrospective is pointless.

A significant portion of the wine is not actually that discounted and can be found cheaper in normal supermarkets which was disappointing, I had already bought before checking this. This is my biggest disappointment. This means you are constantly checking to see if you do actually have a deal, which I feel defeats the object of the app and service.

The app is not self contained and the switching between web and app is very legacy/dated and not helpful when trying to manage the account.

I can see why it works for some people but the savings are massively over exaggerated, you have to marry that up against the membership cost and the cost of delivery which eats into those supposed savings, don’t rely on their numbers. Not a big issue but the majority of wines are 12 pounds upwards

Thanks

Extreme aggressive marketing.

I thought give it a go to see what was offered but the process to actually see what was available involved a prolonged filling out of details and a long winded survey. No sooner than when i had finally got into the menus to see what wines were available, i started getting texts and emails to ‘make sure i didn’t miss out’ on ‘great’ offers. A simple search online found wines I would be interested in for less! This was 4 days ago, and even after unsubscribing and deleting the app I’m still getting emails. Clearly someone has done an online course on giving the customer what they want by bombarding with correspondence laced with a generous helping of FOMO.

To cap it all I got a call today, from a standard mobile number, to offer to waive the subscription fee.

I rarely leave negative reviews btw. Perhaps you need to understand that your marketing strategy is not for everyone and if the ‘deals’ offered are as good as you make out, they will speak for themselves. If they can see them without opening themselves up to the onslaught that is.
