**AVOID AVOID AVOID**
Terrible customer service. Their prices are NOT lower than you’ll pay at a supermarket at all and as none of the wines you see on the app you find at a supermarket anyway, theres nothing to compare it to… however, their average bottle price is more than you’ll pay… stick to the supermarket if you want to save money. They do NOT make it clear when downloading the app that this comes with a £90 charge that they’ll take from the card you register (which they say is to prove youre over 18) and then after communicating with “Jonny” was told Id have to cancel the subscription through the app (which Id already deleted). So now I guess I have to redownload it, reset my password and access the account just to try and cancel it. NOT the way to launch a new app to the market by ripping people off and being misleading.

SCAM!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR CARD DETALS!!
I even had a representative of theirs, call me and promised me a week until he would call me back to see if I wanted to actually proceed with the membership so that I could see which wines were on the site, absolute balderdash. Never got that cold, but guess what the £90 came out They should all be arrested

Ordered 7 bottles over a week ago and the order was supposedly delivered on Monday but was left in a public lobby area by DHL signed for by a ‘random name’ not associated to myself and now my order is lost.
This isn’t Winedrops fault, however as a lot of other reviews have mentioned I was stung by the £90 charge and thought I should give it a go but trying to get hold of customer services to resolve my lost order is an absolute pain due to no contact number. I have chased daily stating that it is lost but haven’t had a reply as of yet..

Avoid got 90 pound taken out of my account never told about this, now have to dispute this with my bank and hope I can get my money back, we go away this weekend and that was my spending money. What a joke of a company, at least some warning I was going to get charged would have been nice so I could’ve avoided this.

Complete joke robbing bastards…if

Taken £90 out of my account for nothing. Disgusting. Do not use this company.

Complete con – ignore the fake reviews and do not sign up. £90 will be removed from your account as an “annual membership fee” and they will try to give you wine instead of being homiuravle and refunding it.
AVOID!

Absolutely disgusted that this company have taken £90 off me without making it clear that this would be the case! There is nothing I want to order from this site! Avoid them at all costs

Debited money from my Google pay account without notice and when looking on site no notification stating £90 subscription per year

Scam site – Do not use this site it takes your money without you realising. You also have to buy 6 bottles before you get any wine. The wine prices are also incorrect saying the wine is worth more

Scam! Signed up with no idea that it would be £90 per year. Downloaded the app to see what the fuss was about and then 1 week later had £90 taken from my account with no access to a refund. Wine is also no cheaper than Waitrose. Avoid at all costs

like many of the reviewers I got a call to question why i didnt sign up after download to ask for feedback. before i got a chance to explain or give any feedback a salesman monologue continued without an invite to to, and then became rude and hung up when i explained i was at work and couldnt speak and tried to give any feedback. terrible customer service and a fraud to ask for feedback when it comes across as harrassment marketing. they also only divulge the ££ membership fee after you’ve given your personal data which they seemingly then exploit to sell to you. Avoid.

Stole £90 from me immediately!

WARNING – SCAM
This company is fraudulent. They will make unauthorised payments from your account even when you have cancelled and deleted the app. DO NOT USE. IGNORE THE FAKE 5* REVIEWS.
I have contacted my credit card company to try and reclaim the £90 you have stolen.
Thieves.

I downloaded this app last week after seeing it advertise and was curious. I (along with various other on this review page) put my card details in as it stated that no payment would be taken until my first order.
After being underwhelmed by the wine on offer I deleted the app. I have woken up this morning to £90 taken out of my account and emailed customer service to ask for a refund but they came back with following:
“We make our membership clear in 4 separate places: in the introductory email that you receive on day 1; in the introductory screens you see as you sign up to the app; in our website FAQs, and; in our site Terms & Conditions. In these places, we also make it clear that the membership fee is non-refundable once the 10-day free trial expires.” – this was not made clear as mention above and I did NOT receive any communication before the money was taken to state that I would be charged £90 as a result of this “free trail”.
But it gets better, instead of refunding me they have “put 3x bottles of St Emilion fine wine in your case, worth a total of £120. This is ready to dispatch whenever you want from your cellar in the app.” which is not what I want.
I’m in contact with my bank to see if they could help but I WISH I would have read the reviews on here first so I would never end up in this predicament.

Lots of unhappy customers on here – just email jonny@winedrops.co.uk and complain direct to him about the way his company operates / perhaps they will change the way they operate – free to join but a bill of £90 comes at you quick even if you don’t buy anything

0 stars – the company policies need to be changed so they don’t catch people who are browsing the site who get a £90
Charge 10 days later – some wines are cheaper at your local supermarket – I have tried to contact them but telephone number on website is wrong – they send you a standard email response after around 24hrs – AVOID

After much emailing and pointing out the poor sign up procedures they have given me a refund. So top marks for that. I still would not use this company ever again.

-1 star this is a response to your rubbish response, firstly I never recieved the welcome email until I went looking for it as it went straight to my junk folder. (Perhaps Google was in the know about your scam)
Secondly how about ypu put the part about the cost being taken before a purchase a bit nearer the top of the email.
Thirdly what’s with the s**t copy and pasted responses to the negative reviews ? You’ve robbed thousands of pounds from hardworking people and yet ypu can’t actually dignify us with a personal response.
Again to anyone thinking about using this lot please stay clear, they only aim to beat prices by a quid but ypu pay for postage.

Have had £90 taken from my bank account I only looked at the site out of interest I have been bombarded with unsolicited calls trying to get me to buy wine and rude telesales when I try to explain I was window shopping
AND THEY HAVE STILL TAKEN £90 !!!

0 stars – this is their typical response to hundreds of people they have wrongly taken £90 from – SCAM avoid at all costs and just go to your local supermarket instead !!!
I’m sorry! It’s mentioned in app setup, in your welcome email, and in Ts & Cs. Equivalent to £7.50 a month, the potential savings far outstrip the membership.
In light of your review, we’ll try to make the membership more clear so members fully understand what they’re getting into.
Please email jonny@winedrops.co.uk to see if we can resolve the complaint directly.

Awful company to deal with – I browsed the site for some wines – saw nothing I liked, on day 8 I noticed a pending charge on my Amex so got in contact with company to cancel membership yet they have still billed me for £90. A shocking Scam – AVOID THIS SHOCKING COMPANY

Yea its a scam. Free trial is a pre-curser to an unexpected £90 charge. They then fail to respond to any communication on the subject. Join up if you want to be robbed of £90 for nothing. It is amazing that they preach these amazing savings then basically rob you.

Also been scammed by this company.
“Free trial with nothing to pay till first order” I didn’t like any of the wines on “offer” so deleted the app. Still had £90 taken from my account so contacted customer services who have point blank refused to refund it, but since I’ve cancelled my membership I can’t even use the stupid app if I wanted to without signing up again?!! Now going through my bank to have the charge returned. Appalling customer service and business model!!

Definitely avoid this company. They take your card details without your knowledge when you download the app and use dark pattern design to hide the £90 subscription fee.
Once the money is taken, they’ll refuse to refund you (instead offering free wine) and stop responding to your messages. Incredibly poor experience and am considering reporting to trading standards.

BE VERY AWARE OF THIS COMPANY ! THEY LURE YOU IN, AND THEN YOU SUDDENLY HAVE AN AMOUNT TAKEN OFF YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!

Shockingly bad service poor customer service and the wine offers available elsewhere without the need to pay a yearly subscription which they have refused to refund. Even after offering a week free trial, taking the money immediately and not refunding!

Absolute scam, didn’t sign up, said they just needed my card for Sign up and took £90. If they don’t refund my account then I’ll be requesting refund through my credit card

Scam artists! They took £90 from my account without any proper notice. The Ts & Cs are opaque at best and there seems to be no way to get a refund and cancel my subscription. Total scam – avoid!
