I had to Google “winedrops” to find out what this is.

Their business model doesn’t appeal to me at all. The website is very low on real detail, and you can’t see what wines they offer (or even examples of deals they’ve offered in the past) without signing up to a free trial. It’s £90 per year to join after the trial (which I couldn’t find any hint of on their website – I had to Google for it) with no guarantee that you’ll like the wine they sell. According to them, you’d have to spend £300/year with winedrops to make your investment back (surely this depends on the size of the discount they’re offering?), all without knowing if you’ll like their selection before signing away your personal information. You have to phone them to cancel, which in this day and age can only be an intentional tactic to inconvenience customers who want to leave. Delivery appears to be £6.99 (again, not on their website – I found that in a review) which is going to eat into any potential savings. Their Trust Pilot reviews are very positive, to be fair to them, but I didn’t see any reviews that actually talked about specific wines and the savings involved so it makes me wonder how knowledgable their customers actually are about wine.

I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole, personally. I suspect the “savings” are immaterial at best when set against delivery costs and membership fees. I’d much rather stick to something like the Wine Society, with full transparency and where I don’t feel like I have to spend money to get the value of my membership fee back.

This is a very dodgy company and you should avoid them. I signed up and because they have not invested in a payment gateway, managed to use sandbox test card details to create my membership – So take that Johnny, no £90 charge for me! So just that everyone is aware, they have no way of verifying any card details entered at the time you create the account. Just find test card details from the web if desperate.

After I got the account I looked at the wine deals. They were the same price on Amazon, so I deleted my account.

However, the next few days – I got absolutely harassed my call after call trying to find out why I left. I told the last guy to remove my number and he said, “suit yourself.” Rude. Avoid avoid avoid. And I will be looking into what regulates this company.

Just had £90 taken out of my account when I didn’t think I had completed my membership.

Not keen on this happening. Winedrops do not appear to have a Customer Service Phone number. I have been rung a number of times on what appears to be a mobile number. When I have rung it back it does not work. All feels dodgy. The number I was called on was 07457 409949.

I also have an email from Jonny founder of Winedrops dated 17/07/24 asking me why I had not completed the sign up?

Very confused as to how they can take my money when I wasn’t aware I had signed up.

I downloaded the app ( as everyone is encouraged to do ) to have a look to see if this service /company is something i would use . I now have a pending 90.00 payment for the pleasure which i had no idea about . Tried to cancel the payment – no option to physically speak to anyone. I’ve emailed – no response yet . The bank can’t cancel the payment .. i haven’t ordered anything – defo wont be now . What a shocking way to operate ..

Absolute scammers, disgusting human beings taking money out of bank when I am single mum trying to feed my child .. I hope karma bites you all in your greedy money grabbing smelly butts.. I won’t stop fighting so bring it on

Read the rest of the reviews and it says it all: SCAMMERS. They said that they warned me about £90 member in an email! They take your bank details from your phone.

Absolutely disgusting service I canceled the following day after the trial started it said it would be cancelled they have now taken £90 out my account my bank as been made aware this is fraudulent.

Whislt investigating I was automatically signed up for 10 day free trial that when it ends automatically you are charged £90 for 12 months membership, now trying to figure out how to cancel that!!

Winedrops ripped me off. I didn’t subscribe and they took £90 from my account. They are the scum of the earth. AVOID AVOID AVOID. They don’t care they’ll just rinse your bank account even when you didn’t subscribe

Dreadful, deals are never what they say the are, advertise wines at a price, can be bought from supermarkets or amazon cheaper and where the RRP prices come from are a mystery! Bought Whispering Angel, advertised at 9.99, would only allow you to buy 1 at that price but plenty in stock if you want to pay £19.99.
Avoid at all costs, complete con!!

24 hrs is unreasonable to spot a debit and respond. You were notified within 14 days on downloading the app that this was an error, and the membership has been cancelled. Neither goods, nor services have been received and the membership cancelled immediately, indicating no intention to receive any goods or services.
The advert for verve cliquot was false at the time of advertising and a clever hook.
No email was received confirming any subscription or membership. I have scoured every single junk mail item and inbox item, but nothing was received. There are no messages in the app.
The marketing approach is misleading and I have been misled thinking I was browsing some deals on an app.
If customer genuinely want your wine and are happy with it, then great, but this case is an error and I want my money back. The account if cancelled and I’ve contacted you several times to confirm the mistake and that I have no intention to buy wine from you.

Dishonest company, do not use. Fake advertising drawing you in to then charge you for a membership that you are not aware of – £90 debit. I thought I was just browsing as I saw the good deal below. I do not want membership and I have no intention of buying any wine from them. I spotted the £90 debit from my account and I contacted them immediately and they are refusing to refund me.

I’ve asked not to be charged as I didn’t realise the free trial meant an automatice charge of £90 with NO OPTION to OPT OUT. What an absolute disgrace.

Fraudulent scammers. Took a £90 payment from card without my permission. The company has been reported to card supplier who are investigating.

When you unsubscribe from emails they don’t remove you from their email list. And they charge you £90 without warning.

The wine is NOT cheap either, feels like a scam.

Not very impressed and can’t wait to leave, right from the start when I said that I was not in a position to join, but still tried to take the money out of my account, then DHL broke one of my wines and as yet four weeks later still nothing resolved

DO NOT USE THIS APP! They will charge you £90 without giving you the option about this – the payment is automatic. Total scam, they know what they are doing. Shame on them taking advantage of people, especially in this current climate.

Not to mention, all of these 4/5 star reviews that you see are clearly generated by AI!

Was initially interested however after a phone call for a free trial which I didn’t use I was then charged the subscription fee!
Didn’t receive a phone call as promised to check if I wanted to continue and then charged.

I am not happy being charge a membership when it’s a free app. They don’t have a phone number and I can’t find out how to cancel. You will be returning my money. I only down loaded the app to see what it was like. I don’t drink wine. I don’t want the membership

This is one of the worst companies I have ever come across. i download the app out of pure interest, they take £90 out of my account without my knowledge, and now i get an email every 10 minutes spamming me with the latest marketing rubbish

This company is a scam!

Signed up and had £90 taken from my account with our being informed, contacted the company and was told they had sent an email with the T&C which I never got.

They said I can cancel with in 24 hours and get a full refund but there app wouldn’t let me cancel.

I emailed them to cancel and they refused and then had had the cheek to start adding wine to my cart which I didn’t want.
