Total scam…. felt totally tricked and they took £90 which they refused to give back even though they say it’s a subscription and you should have a cooling off period! but the fact is I didn’t give my bank details!

Terrible company, had £90 deducted without subscribing, shipped wines at £6.99 charge without me requesting them to be shipped… a complete rip off and the customer services are unhelpful

You can’t see the wine until you subscribe then they offer you wine that is no cheaper than on the high street and send you lots of stuff you don’t want . I was unable to stop my subscription and they will not refund. Also the contact us does not work and you get no response.
Shockingly poor

Abysmal site and customer service. I downloaded the app, realised that the wines they had advertised were only available if I signed up for membership, so immediately deleted. One month later and I have been charged £90 and they are flat refusing to refund this to me. Instead, they’ve offered a so-called £90 credit, but to be quite honest their selection is quite mainstream and the deals they are advertising are not as good as they seem if you shop around elsewhere.

I would strongly urge all potential customers to carefully consider whether this is the type of company you want to buy your wine from.

I’ll be sticking with Naked Wine, those guys know how to treat their customers.

I have been charged £1 for signing up but have not been able to see the full list of wines. I then went on to the reviews and was prompted to return to the site to check what I was signing up for and yes the previous review was correct they were going to charge me £90 next week after my so called free trial!! I have cancelled the membership and will keep you updated.

Awful! Completely miss-sold. Charged me £10 for a bottle of wine as an introductory offer. Failed to tell me I had to order another 5 bottles before they would deliver my bottle I have already paid for!

I had to go onto the app to cancel my subscription, to which it has now charged me for another 2 bottles!

Waiting for a response to my email complaint.

Awful sales tactics and would avoid at all costs!

You fuckin robbing cunts £90 you’ve taken out of my account just for browsing your app to create an account they get you to to put in your phone number and I’m assuming if you have Apple Pay set up on you phone that’s how they get your account details cos I didn’t manually enter my details then they automatically enrolled me to a yearly subscription at £90 absolutely disgusting avoid this lot at all costs looking at the reviews this has happened to quite a lot of people! Wankers!

A very misleading site. I just wanted to browse the wines and got charged on 4 bottles without being able to see my shopping car nor cancel my subscription without paying 90£. A total scam.

I have just downloaded the app, it’s taken a few details and is now saying I’m in a 10 day free trial after which I will be charged £90. I have not agreed to this and wish to exit the free trial. Please can you clarify how I can do this.

The site is misleading and conning people into giving their information just to view the app, and then being told that they’ve agreed to a trial. Do not trust this site

I downloaded the app just to take a look at the wine, not to be told I have a 10 day free trial then my subscription will start. I do not want this and you better sort it. Fuming!!
If you actually let people look first you may get more customers!
I will be checking my bank to make sure I’m not charged £90 I didn’t agree to.

Pretty terrible. You get charged £90 for signing up and if you cancel within 15 days – as I did – they refuse to give you your money back. They don’t make it clear in their terms about cancellation or when you will be charged. A bit of a con to be honest.

Waited 3 weeks to receive my first order so cancelled and requested refund. Slow answers to my emails despite assurances to keep me informed. Chased up again but 10 days later still no refund and no contact from them. I’m over £100 out of pocket. No surprise they don’t provide phone numbers

SCAM. Do not use or create an account as you will be charged £90 for nothing.

Mike Feely

Absolute con. They steal £90 from your bank account without letting you know you have signed up for a subscription. If it was legit they would be upfront about it.

Jeminipe Akin-Olugbade

Scam artists.

Effectively steal £90 by getting your bank details over the phone so that they avoid distance selling refund law.

Horrible people. Horrible company.

Avoid at all costs. Total scam

Downloaded the app thinking I could get really good discounts to then find out it was just a few small discounts. I decided it wasn’t worth it and deleted the app.
Couple of weeks later I get charged for £90, which they claim to be a subscription. Called my bank to cancel it as I never had used their services and would like my money back. The bank said I had to request the refund from Winedrops. Sent them an email and got this reply:
“As written in our welcome email, we cannot refund the membership fee. Since we don’t make profit on the wine, it’s the only thing that allows us to operate as a business.

We think we make this fee clear whichever route you sign up, whether that’s through email or over the phone. We then make it clear again through the email you get on day 1 of the membership.

Finally, we make sure the membership is easy to cancel throughout, by offering an easily accessible option to cancel on the app.

I know you’re unhappy about this resolution – the best thing I can do is offer free wine! If you ever choose to reactivate your membership, I will give you £90 store credit.

Given our average discount is ~35%, you’ll be able to get ~£120 worth of wine with this store credit.

As well as the range on the app, I can offer the following special offers to spend your store credit on. Just let me know which wine, and how many bottles you’d like.

Assuming an average discount of 50% off, your £90 store credit should bag you around £180 worth of wine!

Chateau d’Esclans Whispering Angel 2023, £14.99 (40% off)
Château Blanchon Lussac Saint-Emilion 2015 £10 (70% off)
Casa de Bastida Rioja 2022, £6.99 (53% off)
Del Mito Primitivo 2022 £7.99 (56% off)
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2023 £20.50 (36% off)
Pol Roger Reserve Brut Champagne NV £39.49 (44% off)
19 Crimes Red Blend NV £7.99 (33% off)

Thanks so much for giving us a shot in the first place, and I’m really gutted you’ve been disappointed with us so far.“

Not only I been charged and not refunded their resolution is for me to reactivate my subscription to get £90 in discounts which are totally unreal and fake.
Absolute scam!!!!

Wine drops avoid total scam

Wine drops avoid at all costs This company is a scam
This company is a scam, they start by telling you about all the discounts they can get you on wine, telling you it’s £7.50 per month then they offer you a bottle of wine for£10 and tell you they are going to email you the link for the app ask for your card number then take £10 for the wine and £90 for membership! Not once was I told or asked if they could take this money as they tell you it’s £7.50 per month, when I saw it flash up on my phone I questioned the salesman who said I would have to go through customer services and then put the phone down!
Cannot find a telephone number so have emailed them & have copied reply below ! Absolute joke.
Hi Michelle,

So sorry about that. The annual subscription of £90 (basically £7.50/month) has to be taken in one go, we don’t operate any other way.

IMPORTANT: Cancellation must be done on the app. We do not process cancellations on your behalf.

To cancel, open the app. In case you haven’t got it downloaded, go to
Not allowed to post link
Tap the menu icon on the top right, and navigate to ‘Profile’
Next, tap ‘Current Membership Plan’
Tap ‘Update Membership’ and then tap CONTINUE
Follow the steps to cancel your account!

We’ll be sorry to see you go! If there’s anything I can do to get you to stay, let me know.

As written in our welcome email, we cannot refund the membership fee. Since we don’t make profit on the wine, it’s the only thing that allows us to operate as a business.

However, I do understand the disappointment here.

The best I can do is add £90 store credit to your account, which can be spent on anything you want on our app. I have just done this now for you.

Any order you place on the app now will deduct from this £90 credit automatically.

Given our average discount is ~35%, you’ll be able to get ~£120 worth of wine with this store credit.

Thanks so much for giving us a shot in the first place, and I’m really gutted you’ve been disappointed with us so far. I’m hoping that this £90 store credit offer restores the faith!

Really pushy to get you to subscribe then the offer is pretty poor!
Wines aren’t cheaper than the supermarket and not that interesting either
Sales tactics are super pushy

Its a scam. They take £90 up front and will not refund you when you cancel. You can get better wines elsewhere for the price. Let’s see how long this review stays up!

Unhappy customer

Absolute scammers! Hesitated because of being asked for card details the second you load up the app.

So I didn’t bother.

I then had a call from them to insist ‘nothing is taken, card details are just for when you order wine’. So I reconsidered and entered my details.

Them BAM. 5 attempts within 60 seconds to take £90!!!!!! For a ‘1 year membership’.

No thanks!!!

Should have trusted my instincts.

Avoid like the plague!!!!!!

I’m sure the wine is very nice, but I cancelled my subscription because I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it 2 months on and you’re still trying to take £90 out of my account. Not happy.
