I haven’t actually ordered any wine, as I’m currently trying to get a refund and no longer wish to use this company. I’d urge anyone to be extremely careful when entering their details on the site. The sign-up process is deeply misleading — it feels as though you’re simply registering an account, but without any clear confirmation step or prompt asking whether you wish to join, £120 was instantly charged to my account. There was no opportunity to review or consent to the charge before it was taken. It feels like a system designed to trick customers into membership. Very disappointing experience overall, and I would not recommend proceeding unless you are fully aware of what you’re signing up for.

CHECK YOIR BANK STATEMENTS - Sneaky double charge and charged me £119 for 1x case at 59.99 if I didn’t check my bank records I would have never known.
Very professional and trustworthy business.
Will be filing a complaint.

Really did like this wine, everyone who tried it agreed. It tasted like cough mixture. We poured it away.

Like many other customers, I was caught out by what felt like a hidden subscription that wasn’t made sufficiently clear at the point of purchase. The spin-to-win game also took money from my account immediately, which came as an unwelcome surprise. When I realised what had happened and contacted the team to cancel, I was told I was a few hours past the cancellation window and they refused to make an exception. What started out as an attractively priced introductory box of wine ended up costing considerably more than expected. It’s a real shame, as the concept is appealing, but the lack of transparency around the subscription terms and the inflexibility of the customer service left me feeling misled and frustrated.

I was charged double the price that was displayed at checkout, which was completely unacceptable. On top of that, bottles I hadn’t selected were somehow added to my cart without my consent, and when I tried to remove them, editing the cart turned out to be virtually impossible. To make matters worse, I was still charged for delivery despite having accepted a free delivery offer. The whole experience left me feeling deceived and deeply frustrated. I would strongly caution anyone considering shopping here to double-check every stage of the checkout process very carefully before completing a purchase.

I found the entire experience deeply frustrating and felt that the service was deliberately designed to mislead customers rather than help them. The way things are structured made it genuinely difficult to understand what I was paying for or what I was getting in return. I came away feeling confused and taken advantage of, which is never how any purchasing experience should leave you feeling. I would strongly caution others to approach with care and make sure they fully understand the terms before committing to anything. For me, this fell far short of what I would consider an acceptable standard of transparency and customer care.

I was automatically enrolled in a yearly subscription costing £119. I tried to cancel but missed the 48-hour cancellation window, and despite my best efforts to resolve the situation, I have been unable to cancel or obtain a refund. Customer service has been thoroughly unhelpful throughout the process. To make matters worse, I was charged an additional £15 today, apparently because I had placed a bottle of wine in my basket at some point. I am now pursuing a refund for that charge too. In total, I have been billed £140 for a service I never intended to sign up for — I was simply browsing the website out of curiosity. Please exercise extreme caution when using this website or app, as charges can be applied very easily and unexpectedly. In my experience, this has been a deeply disappointing and frustrating company to deal with.

I was really let down by my most recent order. Two bottles were missing entirely, and the packaging was so inadequate that one of the bottles that did arrive was damaged. For a standard order this would be frustrating enough, but I’m on a premium account — the level of care and attention should be significantly higher. I expect better quality control and more robust packaging as a baseline, let alone as a paying premium member. I hope this is addressed promptly, as it has seriously dented my confidence in ordering again.

I ordered a case of wine at what I considered a competitive price, but later discovered that an additional £119 had been taken from my account without my knowledge. When I queried this charge, I was told it was an annual membership fee — yet I had never knowingly signed up for any membership. My requests for a refund have been completely ignored, leaving me no choice but to escalate the matter further. I would strongly urge anyone considering using this company to think twice. What appears to be a straightforward purchase may come with hidden charges that are neither clearly communicated nor easy to recover. Deeply disappointing and unacceptable.

I’ve had a consistently frustrating experience with Winedrops. The adverts frequently promote wines that simply aren’t available to purchase on the site, which feels deceptive from the outset. After placing a couple of orders, I found the wines themselves to be very ordinary — certainly not of the quality implied by the marketing, and not competitively priced either. To make matters worse, the wine ratings referenced in their promotional content don’t appear to match the actual ratings shown on the site, which undermines trust further. Based on my experience, you’d genuinely be better served by visiting a dedicated wine merchant or even browsing the shelves at a budget supermarket. I wouldn’t recommend this company.

If you value your sanity and your wallet, steer well clear of this company. I ordered some wine at what seemed like a reasonable price, only to discover — buried deep in a follow-up email — that I had been enrolled in a membership club costing £100 a year. There was no clear upfront warning that purchasing wine would sign me up to anything. After receiving around seven emails following my order, I finally checked the FAQ and realised I was about to be charged an annual fee. Cancelling turned out to be its own ordeal — you can only do so through their app, which wasted most of my afternoon. To make matters worse, I continued to receive emails telling me my order was being packed even after I had cancelled. There is absolutely no excuse for hiding a £100-a-year commitment where customers cannot easily see it. Make it obvious. I will not be returning.

I placed my first order and have yet to receive it. As a new customer, this has been a disappointing introduction to the service. I was looking forward to trying the wines, but the wait has left me frustrated and uncertain about whether I can rely on Winedrops for future purchases. I hope this is simply an isolated issue and that the team reaches out soon to resolve the situation. First impressions matter, and unfortunately mine has not been a positive one so far.

I would strongly advise caution before purchasing from this company. A £120 annual membership fee is charged, and in my experience, this cost is far from clearly communicated when you place your first order. I was on holiday at the time and only discovered the charge when I noticed it on my bank statement — by which point it was too late to cancel. I reached out to request even a partial refund as a reasonable compromise, but this was flatly refused. I found the whole experience deeply disappointing. The lack of transparency around the membership fee feels misleading, and the refusal to offer any goodwill gesture reflects poorly on how this company treats its customers.

I ordered two bottles of wine, payment was taken immediately, and the order never arrived. I contacted the company twice in an attempt to resolve the issue and received absolutely no response either time. The complete lack of communication and failure to fulfil the order is deeply concerning. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company and think carefully before sharing any payment details with them.

I’ve found Winedrops to be quite an invasive service when it comes to communications. Despite my best efforts, I’ve been unable to reduce the volume of messages I receive, and the process for silencing notifications or opting out feels unnecessarily complicated. Being inundated with unwanted contact has made for a frustrating experience overall, and I’d strongly encourage the team to make it much easier for customers to manage their communication preferences. A clearer, more straightforward opt-out process would go a long way toward improving customer satisfaction.

I paid £95 for six bottles of promoted wine, only to discover a hidden £119 annual membership charge that had never been clearly disclosed — not even after placing my order. I cancelled my account within the 48-hour deadline, expecting a straightforward refund. Instead, I received no wine, no refund, and no response to any of my emails. The membership fee appears without warning, seemingly designed to catch customers off guard after they’ve already committed to a purchase. I would strongly urge anyone considering an order to scrutinise the small print very carefully before handing over any money. This has been an extremely frustrating and costly experience, and I feel completely let down by what I can only describe as deeply misleading business practices.

I was unfortunately unable to complete the age verification process, which prevented me from accessing the service entirely. It’s frustrating to hit a wall so early on, especially when you’re genuinely interested in exploring what’s on offer. I hope this is something the team looks into and resolves promptly, as it seems like a significant barrier for new customers trying to get started. A smoother, more reliable verification process would make a real difference to the overall experience.

Having attended numerous wine-tasting courses over the years, I like to think I have a reasonable level of knowledge — which is perhaps why my experience with Winedrops left me so frustrated. The wines I tried, selected based on their ratings, were largely ordinary, and several I recognised were available at similar prices elsewhere, making the so-called deals feel more like marketing than genuine value.

The £120 annual membership fee was not clearly disclosed at sign-up. When I tried to cancel after sampling four or five bottles and concluding I’d be better served by a supermarket, I was offered a ‘free’ bottle of Winedrops claret — listed at £20 but supposedly worth £60 — to stay. Accepting it, however, locked me into a further ten months of membership, with no clear indication that this would be the case. The bottle itself was unremarkable.

I also accidentally used the app’s wine ‘spin’ feature, which costs £15 per spin. I won a bottle worth approximately £8, which neatly summarised the overall experience. The membership terms, pricing, and promotions all lack transparency. I will not be renewing, and I would not recommend Winedrops.

This is a sham. Lucky only spent £60. Wine is supposedly a super Tuscan. Tastes like a cheap Australian fruit bomb you get at Tescos for a fiver. Further, they delivered on the hottest day ever in the UK, which I am sure didn’t help matters. Raised to support prior to delivery and they responded with “its not that hot and it will only be on the truck for a day.” In any event, for people in the wine business, they should know better. So leaves me thinking how do they really get the wine so cheap…? Perhaps, because its not what it says on the bottle. Very disappointed but sometimes when it IS to good to be true….it is!

I would urge caution before purchasing from this company. The website appears to be deliberately designed to mislead customers into thinking they are simply buying wine at a reasonable price. What is not made clear — at least not in any obvious way — is that completing a purchase automatically enrolls you in a year-long subscription, resulting in a charge of £119. I was completely unaware of this until the payment was taken. There is no excuse for this kind of opacity when it comes to recurring charges. Customers deserve full transparency upfront, not buried terms that lead to unexpected financial commitments. I would strongly advise anyone to read every detail very carefully before proceeding — or simply shop elsewhere to avoid the frustration.
