The whole point of a mystery bottle is the thrill of the unknown — something unusual, hard to find, or at least worth seeking out. What arrived was a rosé I can pick up from my local supermarket shelf for less than the price I paid here. I understand the concept is built around damaged labels, but if the wine itself is entirely ordinary and widely available, the mystery feels somewhat hollow. It’s less a hidden gem and more a routine purchase dressed up in intrigue. The idea has genuine appeal, but the execution needs to reflect that promise — otherwise it’s hard to see the value.

Unfortunately this bottle was corked, which completely ruined the experience. The wine had a sharp, vinegary quality that made it impossible to enjoy. These things do happen from time to time, and it’s no reflection on anyone’s taste in choosing it — but it’s always a disappointment when a bottle arrives in this condition. Hopefully a replacement would tell a very different story.

Andrew and a friend found this wine deeply disappointing, and neither of them could bring themselves to finish a glass. The sweetness is far too pronounced, overwhelming any chance of depth or complexity coming through. For a wine that carries considerable reputation, it falls well short of expectations — and the “Super Tuscan” billing feels particularly hard to justify here. Sometimes a wine simply doesn’t live up to its hype, and for Andrew, this was very much one of those occasions.

I really wanted to enjoy this, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. The dominant note throughout was an sharp, vinegary quality that I simply couldn’t get past. Whether this was a fault with the bottle or just not to my taste, I can’t say for certain — but either way, it made for a very unpleasant drinking experience. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to try it again.

A deeply disappointing experience. I opened two separate bottles and both were off — there was no salvaging either one. When a fault appears in a single bottle it can feel like bad luck, but encountering the same problem twice makes it hard to put down to chance. I wanted to give this a fair shot, and I genuinely tried, but there’s nothing positive to report. Hopefully this reflects a wider batch issue that has since been addressed, but based on what I experienced I cannot recommend it. Zero stars from me.

Unfortunately this one was a real disappointment. From the first glass it was clear something wasn’t quite right — whether corked or otherwise faulty, the wine just didn’t taste as it should. It was unpleasant enough that finishing even a single glass felt like a stretch, let alone the bottle. These things do happen from time to time, but it’s always a letdown when they do. Hopefully just a one-off bad bottle rather than a reflection of what this wine can be.

The bottle of Whispering Angel was actually very good, but the rest of my experience with Winedrops was awful.
They charged me for an annual membership without properly notifying me. I cancelled it, only to have a salesperson contact me later and try to persuade me to rejoin. I made it clear that I didn’t want the membership, but that I would still consider ordering wine from them in the future.
Unfortunately, the same thing happened again—they attempted to charge me for a six-month membership.
Personally, I’d avoid this company. There are plenty of easier and more straightforward places to buy a bottle of wine.

I wouldn’t call this a bad wine — it genuinely isn’t. But at £385 a bottle, expectations are set at a very particular level, and this simply doesn’t meet them. To start with the basics: it arrived with a pressed cork, which at this price point feels like a significant oversight. The wine itself may well be enjoyable in isolation, but value is part of the equation, and when you’re spending this kind of money you expect everything — from the closure to the contents — to justify the outlay. For me, it doesn’t come close.

It’s hard to give an honest assessment of the wine itself when the experience surrounding it was so frustrating. My rating here is really a reflection of serious problems I encountered with the app — what felt like misleading or unfair practices that left a bad taste, so to speak. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this, but the whole process was undermined before I even got to properly appreciate what was in my glass. Hopefully these issues get addressed, because I’d rather be talking about the wine.

My issue here isn’t really with the wine itself — it’s with the pricing. The bottle was clearly advertised at £10, yet I was charged £20 per bottle when it came to payment. That’s a significant discrepancy, and frankly, it left a very sour taste. I’d encourage anyone considering a purchase to double-check their invoice carefully before completing the order. Until this is resolved, I can’t in good conscience recommend the experience, regardless of what’s in the bottle.

I was genuinely surprised by how little this wine had to offer. It came across as thin and lacking any real depth, and there was an unpleasant chemical edge that was difficult to overlook. I’d had higher hopes, so the experience was a let-down from start to finish. Not something I’d return to.

I would strongly advise potential customers to think carefully before signing up.
I originally subscribed to a monthly service in 2024 and subsequently cancelled it. Despite this, an annual subscription fee of £90 was taken in June 2024. I disputed the charge and again requested that my subscription be cancelled.
To my surprise, a further £90 was taken in June 2025. This was once again raised with the company and I was assured the subscription had been cancelled.
Now, in June 2026, another £90 annual payment has been taken.
Despite repeated cancellation requests over a period of years, the charges have continued. From my experience, the company appears to rely heavily on its terms and conditions while failing to act on clear cancellation requests.
I find it unacceptable that payments can continue to be taken after multiple cancellation requests and disputes. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service.

I referred two friends through the app after being promised a bottle of champagne for each successful referral. Both friends signed up, but when it came to honouring the offer, Winedrops refused — despite the promotion still being visible in the app. Their explanation was that the wording was ‘confusing’, but from where I’m standing, it felt outright misleading. It’s a real shame, because trust matters when you’re recommending a service to people you know. I’d think carefully before relying on any promotional offers from them in future.

I had high hopes, but this wine was a real disappointment. It was far too sweet for my palate, with little to no tannic structure to balance things out. Given all the attention and praise it seems to attract, I found the reality fell well short of expectations. Hype can set a difficult bar, and in this case the wine simply didn’t clear it. Others may enjoy the style, but it’s not one I’ll be returning to.

I had high expectations going in, but this turned out to be the most disappointing wine I’ve tasted in a long time. The reputation that surrounds it feels entirely undeserved — nothing about the experience suggested anything beyond a basic, budget bottle. I couldn’t detect any of the complexity or character the hype would have you believe. The remaining five bottles in my rack have been firmly reassigned to cooking duties. A real shame, and not something I’d recommend at this price point.

Unfortunately this was another let-down. The bottle that arrived was not the one listed — which is frustrating enough on its own — but this is now the second time I’ve had a similar experience with an order. When you’re buying wine on the basis of what’s described and pictured, receiving something different entirely undermines the whole point. I’d genuinely like to give a fairer review of the wine itself, but I can’t in good conscience rate something I didn’t actually order. Hopefully the fulfilment issues get sorted, because getting the basics right really does matter.

Disappointing experience, unfortunately. What arrived felt firmly in supermarket territory — nothing wrong with that style of wine in its own context, but it’s not what I was hoping for when ordering through a curated platform. A Malbec that didn’t offer anything beyond what you’d find on a standard retail shelf. I’d expect more care in the selection. Won’t be reordering this one.

I haven’t received my order, and every attempt to get help from the team has been met with indifference. It’s a deeply frustrating experience — you part with your money in good faith and then find yourself chasing and chasing with nothing to show for it. I genuinely hope this gets resolved, because right now I can’t recommend the service to anyone. Sorted out, this could be a different story — but as things stand, I’m left feeling ignored and out of pocket.

I had high hopes but came away genuinely disappointed. It’s hard to say much more when the wine simply didn’t deliver — nothing about it stood out in a positive way, and it fell well short of what I was expecting. Sometimes a bottle just doesn’t work for you, and unfortunately this was one of those occasions. I wouldn’t rush to try it again.

In three years of drinking wine, this is the worst bottle I’ve encountered — and that verdict wasn’t mine alone. I poured four glasses for guests, and not a single one was finished. That says everything. The bottle ended up down the sink, and I wouldn’t even consider using what remained in a dish. Whatever qualities a wine should bring to the table, this had none of them. A deeply disappointing experience all round, and not one I’d be in any hurry to repeat.

I was genuinely disappointed with this one — not only did it arrive flat and completely lacking in flavour, but it wasn’t even something I’d ordered. I only ever buy red wine, so finding this in my delivery was frustrating from the start. It’s hard to fairly assess a wine when you didn’t want it in the first place, but based on what I tasted, there was nothing here that won me over. I’d hope the fulfilment side of things gets looked at, because receiving the wrong wine is a poor experience regardless of the quality in the glass.

A deeply disappointing experience, unfortunately. Both bottles arrived corked, which was frustrating enough on its own, but they were also an unpleasant muddy brown in colour — clearly well past any reasonable condition. It’s a shame, as there was obviously no opportunity to actually enjoy the wine itself. These things do happen on occasion, but twice in a row makes for a pretty deflating experience. Hopefully just a run of bad luck, and worth reaching out to get this resolved.

Honestly, this one was a disappointment. The wine felt thin and watery from the first sip, with very little going on in terms of flavour or complexity. There was nothing to hold onto — no distinctive character, no real depth, and nothing that made it feel worth returning to. Perfectly ordinary in the most underwhelming sense of the word. I’ve had budget bottles that offered more interest than this. Not something I’d reach for again.

I had high hopes given the price, but this turned out to be genuinely one of the worst examples of the appellation I’ve ever encountered. Deeply disappointing — not what I’d expect at this level, and not something I’d be in a hurry to revisit.

Unfortunately, I can’t offer any thoughts on how this wine actually tastes, because it never reached me. The order simply wasn’t delivered. It’s a disappointing experience — when you’re looking forward to opening a bottle, having it fail to arrive at all is a frustrating way to start. I’d hope this is a one-off logistics issue rather than anything more systemic, but for now I can only rate the experience I had, and that experience was a poor one. Hopefully the situation gets resolved and I get the chance to revisit this properly.

Honestly, I was really disappointed with this one. I found it difficult to enjoy in any way, and I can’t say I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s rare that I feel a wine is simply not worth the price paid, but this is one of those occasions — I genuinely wished I’d chosen something else. I’ll be reaching out about a return. To each their own, of course, but this particular bottle missed the mark entirely for me.
