Winedrops isn’t the cheapest option out there — supermarkets will often undercut on price — but you have to consider what you’re actually getting: carefully curated wines from all over the world, available at significantly reduced prices. The selection feels genuinely considered rather than just commercially driven, and having everything delivered directly to your door is a real bonus, especially when quality wine merchants are increasingly hard to come by locally. It’s not a budget service, but for the range and convenience on offer, it represents solid value for those who take their wine seriously.

Winedrops offers a solid selection of wines and the service is genuinely good. However, I’m not entirely convinced you’re getting the best value for money — other retailers seem to offer similar wines at comparable prices. Worth a look, but perhaps do a quick price check before committing to a purchase.

The prices are genuinely competitive and delivery was impressively quick, so there’s a lot to like about Winedrops. However, I was caught off guard when a membership fee of £119 was charged as part of my first order. I hadn’t fully registered that this would be included, and I think it could be made significantly clearer during the checkout process. It’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, but it’s the kind of thing customers should be explicitly informed about before completing their purchase, rather than discovering it after the fact. Greater transparency upfront would go a long way.

Tried a couple of bottles for a change. Not my favourite rose. Not sure if it tastes sweet or whether it is too fragrant for me. Will stick to other Provence Rose’s.

I’ve only just downloaded and opened the Winedrops app for the first time, so it’s difficult to give a fully informed rating at this stage. It seems a little premature to be asked about my experience when I haven’t yet had the chance to explore the features or make any purchases. Winedrops clearly offers some great deals, but be warned: when you first open the app and it asks which card you’d like to use, you’ll be billed immediately once the three-day trial ends. I simply wanted to explore the app and get a feel for what it offered, but found myself charged sooner than expected. Worth being aware of before you sign up, as it’s easy to assume the trial gives you more breathing room to decide whether the service is right for you.

A very nice Sicilian light summer red. Better Nerello wine for similar £12 a bottle out there though.

The age verification process feels more complicated than it needs to be. While I understand the importance of verifying customers’ ages when purchasing alcohol, the current steps involved feel unnecessarily lengthy and cumbersome. Streamlining this process would make for a much smoother and more enjoyable experience overall. I hope Winedrops considers simplifying this in the future, as it’s one area that could really benefit from some attention.

Really not to my taste. Nothing wrong with it as such but the first bottle I’ve Jade from Winedrops that I’ve poured down the sink after half a glass. I have another bottle here, will have to use as a gift

Bit disappointed with this one. Apple taste to start with then just very grapefruity. Spoilt it for me.

A fresh, clean New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of citrus on the nose. It’s crisp and refreshing.

For my palate, though, it was a little sharper than I’d like and lacked some depth through the middle. The flavours started well but didn’t quite develop into the rich, concentrated finish I was hoping for

I’ll hold my hands up — I didn’t read the terms and conditions closely enough before signing up, so committing to a full year came as something of a surprise. That’s probably on me. The introductory wine, unfortunately, really wasn’t to my taste at all, which got things off to a rocky start. I’m genuinely unsure whether Winedrops is the right fit for me personally, particularly given the price point. That said, I suspect it could be a great option for more seasoned wine buyers with a larger budget and a broader palate than mine. Worth doing your research before diving in.

Winedrops is one of those companies you love to hate. Inconsistency is a recurring theme, and the tendency toward hyperbole in wine descriptions can grate after a while. Honesty and restraint in how wines are written up would go a long way. That said, every so often Winedrops genuinely impresses, which is what keeps me coming back. My biggest gripe, however, is the annual membership fee — it simply doesn’t sit well, and dropping it would make the offering far more appealing. Two straightforward improvements: ditch the membership charge and be more candid in describing the wines. Get those right, and there’s real potential here.

The wine itself is good and decent value, but there are some important caveats worth knowing before you order. When you place your first order, Winedrops enrolls you in their subscription service without making this clear upfront. On top of that, if you add wine to your basket, your card can be charged immediately and without explicit consent. Getting a refund is a lengthy process — in my case, it only came through after I escalated the matter and threatened further action. On the positive side, the three-day free trial is genuinely worthwhile if you’re curious about what’s on offer. My advice: enjoy the trial, explore the selection, but be very cautious about continuing beyond that point and make sure you understand exactly what you’re signing up for.
