When you press buy the money comes straight out of your account. I thought you could pay at the end when you have all items for a case.

I’ve been ordering a case of 12 for almost two years now. I joined by accident basically because I did the trial and missed the cancellation date and was charged £90 which they wouldn’t refund. When the year was up I rang to cancel but missed the cut off date again. Again they refused to cancel. They did however give me a credit on my account and I took this opportunity to order more expensive wines thinking they would be much nicer. Some were some weren’t. Each time I thought might as well use the subscription. I have to say the so called ‘cheaper’ (£8-£10) wines were barely palatable to mediocre. The more expensive I bought were just ok with a few worth reordering. The clincher to cancelling my subscription was when I found some of same wines for £1-£2/bottle cheaper with the added benefit of no delivery costs. One good idea is that you can rate the wines you have bought in your ‘cellar’ so you can see which you liked and which you didn’t. I didn’t find this feature until halfway through my second year and couldn’t remember what I liked and didn’t ‍♀️ but it’s definitely a good feature. Also, I like that you can buy the wines and have them ‘put away’ so you don’t have to fork out £100+ all at once for a full case, you gradually ‘build’ your case as you want then when you reach your preferred 6 or 12 your delivery is automatically triggered. The other thing is I got soooo many emails from Jonny@Winedrops I didn’t notice, if I got one, the notification that my subscription was up and another £90 would be coming out of my account. You do get a free bottle of Chateau-Neuf-du-Pape with each renewed subscription (supposedly worth £90+) but then you’ve paid £90 subscription so is it really ‘free’.If I could be certain I would like more of the wines I may have kept my subscription but to find them cheaper elsewhere was a bit of a blow.

Signed up to this in March this year. Was previously with Naked Wines , but was finding they were getting a bit expensive. This seemed like a good alternative. Sadly , not. Good workable app based. Unfortunately after 3 12 bottle cases I have decided to call it a day. Have been majorly disappointed with the wines. Found most of them to be quite bland and lacking taste. Shame. As I thought I had found my new wine supplier.

Charges you for every bottle immediately, before you’ve even ordered enough to delivered in a box! Money-grabbing initial charges and delivery fees make this a less favourable deal. Be weary.

weird that you can’t add to cart and you have to buy straight away?

Not ideal that you are charged as soon as you add a bottle to your cart, so if you don’t find 6 you like tough it’s too late you need to keep going until you have 6 bottles and a 6.99 delivery charge!

Close, but no cigar.
I really enjoyed my first 6 bottle case. Like most things in life “the hook” is usually good.
I initially halted my application on the app when I hit the £90 membership, as I felt that was steep. Although the “discounts” suggested I would be getting far better quality wines at better prices and therefore recoup the outlay with the wines. I then received a phone call and was promised a bottle of champagne if I signed up. I did sign up but still haven’t received my champagne.
The main issue I have is with the “discounts” as the wines are good but are generally at market price. It is a running joke with my daughter, as we share the wine. to see how close we can get the wine, via google, to the Winedrops price. We usually get to within two pounds. Now, before I hear you say £2 is £2, remember there is delivery (about £1 a bottle) and the £90 annual membership.
I will not be renewing.
That said, the wines are interesting and generally good. The deals are just not as good as they promote.
And I’m guessing I won’t win the £500 bottle of wine with this review, honest and balanced as it is. ☺️
