Winedrops is a reasonable option overall, but there are a few things that hold it back. The selection at the lower price range feels quite limited, and some of the value claims seem a little overstated. I’m also not particularly keen on the gamified experience — it feels unnecessary and somewhat at odds with what should be a straightforward wine-buying process. The lack of a simple “buy it now” option on the app is another frustration; sometimes you just want to make a quick, direct purchase without jumping through hoops. There’s potential here, but a few improvements would make for a much more satisfying experience.

The offer itself is genuinely appealing, and I can see the value in what Winedrops provides. However, the volume and frequency of the email marketing campaign left a sour taste and really detracted from what could have been a positive overall experience. I’d encourage Winedrops to dial back the promotional emails, as a more measured approach would go a long way towards making customers feel valued rather than overwhelmed. The product has potential, but the aggressive outreach is something that needs addressing if they want to retain customers and build lasting goodwill.

I recently ordered a case of Scáranto after reading the glowing write-up on the Winedrops page, and while it’s a perfectly pleasant wine, it turned out to be a little too sweet for my palate. I had high hopes based on the enthusiastic praise, so I was slightly disappointed that it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. That said, sweetness is very much a matter of personal preference, and those who enjoy a softer, sweeter style may well find it hits the mark. Worth bearing in mind before ordering if, like me, you tend to prefer drier wines.

Tastes past its best, (2023), which is a shame, as it’s probably okay if drunk within a couple of years. Will check more carefully before buying bargain whites in future!

The value for wine and delivery at Winedrops is excellent, which is why it’s a shame to leave only three stars. My rating reflects an experience that left me frustrated rather than any issue with the products themselves. When I joined, I wasn’t made aware that adding a wine to my basket would trigger an immediate charge to my account. As someone who likes to browse, load up a basket with options, and then decide what to keep based on my budget, this came as a real surprise. To make matters worse, obtaining a refund wasn’t straightforward, and the money wouldn’t be returned to my account instantly. I’d strongly prefer a traditional checkout flow where I can review my basket before any payment is taken. A small change like this would make the shopping experience far more enjoyable and transparent for new customers.

There are some genuinely good discounts to be found through Winedrops, and on the whole the selection is solid. However, I’d strongly caution against using the spin feature. On three separate occasions I ended up paying £15 for a bottle of wine that was only worth £7 — so rather than saving money, I actually ended up spending significantly more than the bottle’s value. It’s a shame, because the core offering is decent, but that particular mechanic works out poorly for the customer. Worth bearing in mind before you give it a go.

Winedrops isn’t the cheapest option out there — supermarkets will often undercut on price — but you have to consider what you’re actually getting: carefully curated wines from all over the world, available at significantly reduced prices. The selection feels genuinely considered rather than just commercially driven, and having everything delivered directly to your door is a real bonus, especially when quality wine merchants are increasingly hard to come by locally. It’s not a budget service, but for the range and convenience on offer, it represents solid value for those who take their wine seriously.

Winedrops offers a solid selection of wines and the service is genuinely good. However, I’m not entirely convinced you’re getting the best value for money — other retailers seem to offer similar wines at comparable prices. Worth a look, but perhaps do a quick price check before committing to a purchase.

The prices are genuinely competitive and delivery was impressively quick, so there’s a lot to like about Winedrops. However, I was caught off guard when a membership fee of £119 was charged as part of my first order. I hadn’t fully registered that this would be included, and I think it could be made significantly clearer during the checkout process. It’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, but it’s the kind of thing customers should be explicitly informed about before completing their purchase, rather than discovering it after the fact. Greater transparency upfront would go a long way.

Tried a couple of bottles for a change. Not my favourite rose. Not sure if it tastes sweet or whether it is too fragrant for me. Will stick to other Provence Rose’s.

I’ve only just downloaded and opened the Winedrops app for the first time, so it’s difficult to give a fully informed rating at this stage. It seems a little premature to be asked about my experience when I haven’t yet had the chance to explore the features or make any purchases. I’ll reserve fuller judgment until I’ve had more time to use it properly.

This has convinced me that I’m not a Zin’ fan – this is better than the ‘700’, (which was downright odd!), but it doesn’t leave me wanting another sip, which tells me somethings wrong!😅

Winedrops clearly offers some great deals, but be warned: when you first open the app and it asks which card you’d like to use, you’ll be billed immediately once the three-day trial ends. I simply wanted to explore the app and get a feel for what it offered, but found myself charged sooner than expected. Worth being aware of before you sign up, as it’s easy to assume the trial gives you more breathing room to decide whether the service is right for you.
