It’s not cheap. Wine is a little hit and miss. Unfortunately bought 2 bottles that were so bad I couldn’t drink them. Hidden charges of subscription on top of wine prices. Impossible to cancel. Terrible app for purchasing. I am attempting another case if no improvement I am hoping to find a way to cancel subscription. Fingers crossed.

App was strange in that you pay as you build your case. Search function also a bit hit or miss. First impression is not good

To be honest I was hoping for more (review of Winedrops, Declassified Pauillac , 2022)

Tastes a bit too sharp for me, certainly taste cherries. (review of Winedrops, Del Mito Primitivo, 2023)

Average, not the best aftertaste (review of Terrescure, Lotto Unico Governo Uso Toscano, 2021)

The subscription is very high , you need to order a lot of the wind drops to make it pay , otherwise great wine , great service

Fresh, palatable but nothing particularly exciting. (review of Cono Sur, Bicicleta Sauvignon Blanc, 2023)

Not to my taste. Better with food. (review of Hei Matau, Sauvignon Blanc, 2023)

Solid - peppery, works well with earthy pasta dishes, as good as a lot of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (review of Château Gigognan , Côtes-du-Rhône, 2023/2024)

I don’t recall being advised of a membership fee during the purchase process. I only discovered the membership fee accidentally, whilst looking at my account profile.Having looked again, I see there is mention of a membership fee, but you have to read the small print. On a positive note, the wine arrived promptly, and the price was better than anywhere else by far.

Challenging wine to review as so unlike anything else really. The barrels seemed to impart a certain quality to the palate via taste you don’t associate with red wine. It’s woody but in an almost hint of aged rum fashion. This lessened day 2. Aroma muted. Not sure. (review of Rodriguez y Sanzo, Whisba , 2021)

Bold , and full of flavour (review of Tezza, Corte Majoli Valpolicella BIO, 2023)

Can appreciate it’s a good wine but a bit more floral than I was expecting (review of Quinta de Sao Sebastiao, QSS Rare Lisbon White, 2024)

Loved the selection and price of wine but find the website confusing to navigate

Good flavour though not robust enough for my liking (review of 770 miles, Zinfandel Red, 2023)

Been a customer for 18 months, I do want to start by saying I do like the app, like the wine, I think you can generally speaking get good quality wine through the app at reasonable prices and the delivery is fast. I do think the marketing is pretty ick as it is misleading (IMO) as it makes you think that you’ll see Veuve, Whispering Angel, Pol and LP all over the app at crazy discounts but they are RARE. I’ve actually never seen LP in 18 months, seen Veuve once in a chaser and I missed it and I do see Whispering Angel a fair and Pol occasionally (in the drops, they often live in the store but normalish or slightly cheaper prices) but the Whispering Angel is always £15 not the £10 they show in the adds (though I think you get a sign up bottle for £10) and that’s really only a few quid off what you pay at Waitrose. I wish they’d either stop with the ads that mislead or they actually add in more of the recognisable brands at great prices and live up to their advertising. It’s still a nice service if you want to grab a few of the brands at slightly cheaper prices AND get some mystery bottles for £8-15 for nice quality wine and a few bottles of champagne for nice occasions when they pop up but I’d expect it rarely and you need to be on the ball when they come up.

Lacks a little body (review of 770 miles, Zinfandel Red, 2023)

Interesting concept but I’ve been asked to provide feedback before receiving my wine. Wine seems very good value but would’ve liked more clarity how the cellar works.

A fairly average Malbec.

I find the process difficult. I was hoping to get Whispering Angel at a certain price but it seems I didn’t fully follow through and it has now gone up in price. I also wasn’t aware I had bought the wine immediately and had hope to look at the shopping basket before checking out. Can’t comment on the wine as just ordered.

I much prefer New Zealand Pinot Noirs but it drinks well, albeit a bit “light” on flavour.
