Avoid this company they do nothing but harras you until the point they take £119 from your account even though you cancelled the membership and they even offered a reduced membership of £25 full of rubbish AVOID AVOID AVOID

Absolute con - took the membership in the trial period after i had deleted my subscription, which is a crime. Social media shows that this is quite a common scam, as well as taking an excessive amount of money for products. I have only received automated responses. Absolutely avoid this company unless you want to have money stolen from you.

Very unhappy to see I’ve been charged a membership fee of £90 despite the free trail period supposedly being extended.

Awful customer service. Cancelled membership within 30 mins so should not have been charged. Was charged anyway and membership was never cancelled so I have had to cancel the membership again and have lost £119 and got absolutely nothing for it. Absolutely disgraceful service, denied that anything could have been wrong on their part and would not refund even though I alerted them within 24 hours of being charged.

This company is like all the others online. Don’t be fooled, I purchased 6 bottles, 1 was a Sancerre from a known quality producer and another from a known quality Rioja producer. The other 4 bottles were generic labels, so I trusted the company that they were worth the advertised prices. they arrived today, the 4 generic wines were dire, sweet dirt cheap nasty rubbish, I had to tip them away. The two expensive wines were ok, as they were famous mass produced over priced crap in the first place. I’m so disappointed, but the most disappointing thing is I knew this would happen. Avoid, everyone is better off buying Sainsbury’s the best, Morrisons the best, Aldi top wines, it’s funny actually that these guys had generic Pauillac and Aldi had the same at the same price, well in Aldi it’s on clearance at £14.99 , and it’s not worth any more..

PLEASE avoid. They will sneak a £119 membership fee on you without realising after making you authorise a £0.00 payment through the app.

I came across a Facebook advert for Winedrops claiming huge savings compared to supermarkets—this is completely misleading. Their prices are artificially inflated to make the “discounts” seem significant.

More concerningly, when you download the app, it requires you to enter all your personal and payment details before you can even see the prices. I only realised later why they do this: they charge a £119 annual membership fee. When I signed up, the app clearly stated that my card would not be charged, but this was deceptive. There is a so-called “free trial” that allows you to see the prices, but unless you manually cancel, you are automatically charged after a short period.

I looked at the wine selection, found no real savings, and closed the app without a second thought. A week later, on a Saturday night, I was hit with a £119 charge for a membership I never intended to use. After reading the website carefully, I saw that if you contact them within 24 hours, you can receive a partial refund. This is true—but instead of a refund, I was given a £50 store credit. Begrudgingly, I used the credit, only to be charged £6.20 for delivery.

When I questioned this, Winedrops claimed they had sent me an email explaining the charge. However, it went straight to my spam folder, so I never saw it. They also insisted that the membership terms were clearly explained in the app, but I consider myself tech-savvy, and I certainly didn’t see them properly displayed.

The whole experience felt like a deliberate trap, and I later found many similar complaints from other users. Unfortunately, I should have checked the reviews before signing up. Avoid this company at all costs—misleading marketing, sneaky charges, and poor customer service.

Absolute scam. After your “free trial” (that I didn’t use I’d like to mention) you get stung with £119 leaving your bank account without any prior warning. Thanks. Hope you buy yourself something nice with that

I signed up by accident, and you have taken £119 from my account. I have no intention of using your service, yet you refuse to refund me! I see that you have done this to many others on Trustpilot, and I will make it my mission to warn people on every platform I can. You are not scamming me out of £119!

The company want your payment details before you can even view their products.

Scam and the company have terrible ethics. I had no idea I was being charged a membership fee until it debited as it is hidden in the small print. I emailed customer services within 48 hrs to advise I had been charged and hadn’t meant to ‘sign up’ but was the response was to hide behind ‘our terms stipulate’ rather than just being sensible and refunding a mistake. It is sad a company can do this to you, and even sadder they think its acceptable do so. It is clear the membership funds the discount for wine. I wonder how many people get charged without actually realising it?
Interestingly the first FAQ in on their FAQ page is ‘why have I been charged?’ I wonder why.
If one hope that by writing this review someone is saved by what is frankly an underhand hidden charge masked by small print terms and conditions. Be Careful!

So not join this app!!!
I was duped into a three month membership and told I could use the menu button on the app to cancel. There is no menu button on the link I was sent. Also the ‘free’ bottle you are tempted with is actually only yours when you buy five more bottles!
Be sensible use Majestic or go to Tesco for reasonably priced wines

Absolutely horrified at the sheer lack of humanity and understanding from your ‘support’ team. I have begged with them given my extreme circumstances for a refund since I have never utilised or taken advantage of this app nor services, yet met with zero understanding.

Glad you’re offering me bottles of wine to replace my bills for the month (even provided my bank statement to prove my case). Disgusting.

The entire process is a scam! Even the way you are unable to move forward within your enquiry unless you submit bank details, then to find they have taken £119 for a membership I was unaware of.

Stay away!!! If you have any common sense!

I downloaded the app but quickly realised it wasn’t for me and deleted it within minutes. Despite this, I was still charged. When I requested a refund, I was given a voucher instead—something I never asked for. I couldn’t afford this unexpected charge, and the lack of flexibility in resolving my request has been really disappointing. A full refund should be an option in cases like this. Be cautious before purchasing, as the refund process is unclear and not as straightforward as it should be.
