Good wine, but in general mostly out of my price range

It’s quite an easy, middle-of-the-road rosè. Worth the discounted price. (review of Chateau d’Esclans, Whispering Angel, 2024/2025)

Bit of a shock. More a summer glugger (review of Quinta de Sao Sebastiao, QSS Rare Vinho Verde White, NV)

I ordered 2 bottles, both were amazing. However upon searching the prices they were both under £25. I’m happy with the quality of the wine but feel ripped off by the price of the bottles compared to what I paid. (review of Its a mystery!, Mystery Wine £25, ?)

Ok for the price (review of Quinta de Sao Sebastiao, QSS Rare Lisbon White, 2024)

Good but not excellent
(review of Quinta de Sao Sebastiao, QSS Rare Lisbon White, 2024)

It’s a decent wine, it just doesn’t have that oaky full bodied flavour of most riojas. Tonnes of fruit and peppery spice with a lingering black cherry aftertaste. I might be being a bit harsh with a 3 stars, but it just doesn’t tick the boxes I’m looking for in a Rioja. (review of Ramirez de la Piscina, Crianza, 2020)

Bit rough around the edges (review of Cantine Truentum, 968 Montepulciano D’abruzzo, 2022)

Not as sweet as I was expecting, but had an ‘interesting’ taste, atypical for a Sauternes (review of Winedrops, Declassified Sauternes , 2016)

Another gooooood red, classic Bordeaux , mediocre body but good fruity finish (review of Chateau La Perriere, Bordeaux Superieur, 2020)

Not to my taste, a little sharp. There are much better options in this price range but drinkable (review of Rock Wines, Grey Eminence Prosecco DOC Millesimato extra dry, 2024)

weirdly seafoody notes, and not much else to say for itself. drinkable but not amazing (review of Le Comptoir des Vins de Flassans, Entre Amis Rose, NV)

I’ve had friends rave about this one so I was really excited to try it. It’s a perfectly nice red but not as smooth as I was expecting. I have had reds just as good - or better - for half the price. (review of Boekenhoutskloof, The Chocolate Block, 2023/2024)

Anthony Johnson

Was really excited by this one, but it fell flat, lacked body. (review of Winedrops, Declassified Pauillac, 2023)
