It was a little disconcerting that putting a bottle in your basket automatically means you’ve bought it but when you flip it as a way of storing and building a case until it’s ready to send, it makes it fun and psychologically lessens the impact on your wallet!

I started buying good wine during lock down from our local restaurant supplier but have since just gone back to picking up a couple of bottles here and there that are on offer at the supermarket. Winedrops is the perfect solution for me. Not a subscription like The Times wine club or Naked but a way you can choose to have a few good bottles on hand when needed but not break the bank every month. The choice is generally quite small but really well detailed and described. I’ve bought a few bottles that I’ve subsequently seen in v posh restaurants at 20x the price.Best bit is being about to buy a few then wait till there’s something else you want and knowing the few you’ve already purchased are paid for and waiting.
