The 2014 Château Cabrières is an absolute gem of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, showcasing everything you’d hope for in a well-aged Rhône red. From the moment it’s poured, it delights with a deep garnet colour and an enticing bouquet of dark cherries, plums, leather, and subtle garrigue herbs.

On the palate, it strikes a perfect balance between richness and elegance — silky tannins, layers of ripe black fruit, a hint of spice, and an earthy undertone that speaks to its terroir. The wine has aged beautifully, with just enough time to soften while retaining vibrancy and depth.

It opened up wonderfully after about 45 minutes in the decanter, revealing more complexity with every sip. The finish is long, smooth, and satisfying — a true testament to the craftsmanship of Château Cabrières.

Paired with fillet steak and Provençal vegetables, it was nothing short of spectacular. This bottle is drinking perfectly now, but could even hold for a few more years.

Highly recommended for lovers of classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape — a wine full of soul and southern Rhône charm!
