A fun and exciting way to experience wines you are perhaps unfamiliar with I’ve spent a bit of time using the Winedrops app, and overall I find it an exciting and genuinely convenient way to buy wine. The whole thing feels smooth from the moment you open it. Browsing is quick, the layout is clean, and it encourages you to explore bottles you wouldn’t normally come across in a supermarket. That discovery element is the part I enjoy most. I’ve already found a few wines I probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise, and that alone makes the app feel worth using. That said, I do have mixed feelings about some of the big discount claims. A few of the deals look amazing on the surface, but once you pause and think about the supposed usual price, it’s not always clear how real the saving is. There’s been outside criticism on this point too, so it’s not just me being picky. I wouldn’t call the discounts misleading across the board, but I’ve learned to take the numbers with a pinch of salt and do a quick sense-check before hitting buy. The value is still there, but it’s not always as dramatic as the headline suggests. The membership model is also something I had to settle into. You only get access to the best prices once you’re signed up, and that cost needs to be part of the mental calculation. If you buy wine regularly enough, it works out fine. If you only dip in occasionally, you might not get the full benefit. Delivery is straightforward and reliable, which helps. It’s very much a sit on the sofa, choose something interesting, and it turns up later experience. That sense of ease is one of the app’s strongest features. Despite the couple of reservations, I’m still positive about Winedrops. It’s simple, it’s enjoyable to use, and it makes wine-buying feel more like a little adventure rather than a chore. I like having access to bottles I don’t normally see, and the quick, app-based purchase process suits the way I shop. Even when I’m sceptical about a particular discount, I still appreciate being presented with something new and different. My summary would be this: Winedrops is convenient and fun, especially if you enjoy exploring beyond the usual supermarket choices. Just stay level-headed about the discounts and take a moment to check whether the deal feels realistic. If you do that, the app becomes a genuinely enjoyable tool for discovering new wines and keeping things interesting.

Good wines and a bargain can be found but their returns performance is shoddy. Despite 2 duff wines being reported, no credit issued. Not what they promise.

I’ve had one or two issues navigating the site but that is probably more down to me than Winedrops. I did order 6 bottles of wine but only received 4 but I did receive credit for my loss. The wine I have had is really good and very attractively priced. If you like good wine at reasonable prices I would certainly recommend giving them a go.

Lovely smooth light Rioja. Def worth the price, pronounced nose, red fruit a little dull but balanced acidity and lovely after taste with cedar/smoky flavours lingering. Best served a little chilled as loses it’s appeal nearing room temperature. (review of Finca Balzarra, Rioja Reserva, 2018)
