A legendary First Growth Bordeaux with exceptional aging potential

Château Margaux is one of the most prestigious wine estates in the world, and its 2018 vintage stands as a testament to the estate’s commitment to excellence. Located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, this First Growth (Premier Grand Cru Classé) has been producing exceptional wines since the 16th century.

The 2018 vintage faced challenging conditions early in the growing season, with heavy rainfall in the spring leading to concerns about mildew. However, the summer brought perfect conditions with warm, dry weather that continued through harvest. This allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to reach optimal ripeness while maintaining freshness and acidity.

Under the direction of Managing Director Philippe Bascaules and consultant Eric Boissenot, the team at Château Margaux carefully selected only the finest grapes for this wine. The result is a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (90%), complemented by Merlot (4%), Cabernet Franc (4%), and Petit Verdot (2%).

This wine represents the perfect balance between power and elegance that Château Margaux is renowned for. It will continue to evolve and improve for decades to come, making it both a collector’s treasure and a wine lover’s dream.
