About Garganega
Garganega is the primary grape behind Soave, one of Italy’s most historic white wine appellations. Grown in the Veneto region, especially in the Soave Classico zone, Garganega produces elegant wines known for their subtle almond finish, floral aromatics, and crisp minerality.
Though often overshadowed by flashier white varieties, Garganega offers excellent value and versatility, especially when grown in volcanic soils that enhance its mineral character. While most styles are made to be fresh and approachable, some are oak-aged or late-harvested, revealing depth and age-worthiness.
Garganega also plays a role in Recioto di Soave, a luscious sweet wine made from dried grapes.
