About Fiano
Fiano is a high-quality white grape native to southern Italy, particularly the region of Campania, where it is best known as the grape behind Fiano di Avellino DOCG. Known for its floral aromatics, rich texture, and nutty complexity, Fiano has been cultivated since ancient times and was once called Vitis Apiana—the “vine of the bees”—due to its aromatic appeal.
Fiano thrives in volcanic soils and warm climates, producing wines with structure, freshness, and subtle minerality. In recent years, it has gained a global following, with small plantings emerging in Australia and California.
While often unoaked, premium styles can include lees aging or oak fermentation, resulting in wines with depth, creaminess, and ageability.
