About Aligoté

Aligoté is Burgundy’s lesser-known white grape, often overshadowed by Chardonnay but deeply loved by locals for its zippy acidity, citrusy brightness, and everyday drinkability. It is the traditional grape used in the classic French apéritif Kir, where it’s mixed with crème de cassis.

Primarily planted in Bouzeron (the only Burgundy appellation dedicated solely to Aligoté), the grape also grows in other parts of Burgundy and Eastern Europe, where it produces light, refreshing wines perfect for summer or seafood.

With renewed interest in high-acid, low-alcohol whites, Aligoté is gaining attention from sommeliers and cool-climate winemakers worldwide.
